Support for young people

(Services for young people aged 13 – 19 years)

Our Youth Worker provides free information, advice and support for young people:

  • confidential, one-to-one advice and guidance
  • advice on education, employment and training
  • help if you are having problems with school
  • support in dealing with organisations on immigration concerns
  • accompany you to appointments
  • help you with health care and health education
  • help you find leisure activities
  • act on your behalf in age disputes

Cookery evenings

You are invited to come and share a meal with other young refugees and asylum seekers who live on their own. Learn about nutrition and budgeting, and try food from different countries…

Venda Club

(Young men aged 13 – 19 years)

Venda meets every Tuesday evening at The Mish. Activities include pool, table football, films and video games. You can practice English with volunteers and take part in life skills training, including sessions on HIV/AIDS and substance misuse. Refreshments are provided.

Summer activities

During summer, we arrange a variety of activities, including dances, art sessions, picnics, canoeing lessons, football camps and day trips to London. We also refer young people to other organisations offering sports and other activities.
